Hyungi Park is a Korean-American multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles & New York. Her diverse practice spans art, incense, & design. Hyungi teaches workshops on incense & directs Goyo, a creative space with locations in Los Angeles & Brooklyn. Her work with incense—encompassing her collection, commissions, & workshops—celebrates the artistry of handmade and traditional crafts. She combines deep research into traditional methods & history with a pursuit of modern innovation within incense.Hyungi has participated in the NEW INC Creative Science track in 2024 and the Eyebeam Rapid Response for a Better Digital Future Fellowship in 2020. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, & she has spoken at Stanford University and at MOCA in Los Angeles, CA. She has worked with Samsung, Shopify, Soho House, Montblanc, Urban Outfitters, Nike, HBO Max, Viacom, & Spotify.

Incense Collection

Hyungi incense is clean, natural, & made with intention. We aspire to make things by hand & slowly, by thoroughly researching the traditional methods and history while striving to reach modern innovations within incense. Incense was historically a precursor to perfume, used to measure time, repel insects, & even preserve some medicines. Now we still use incense as a daily ritual, but to cleanse your environment and mind.We make our incense with all natural ingredients of aromatic woods, herbs, resins, and flowers (some of which we forage locally). Our incense is crafted by hand in our studio in Los Angeles, CA where we also teach incense making workshops. We strive to source our materials organically & ethically. Our packaging is made with all paper products that are recyclable.

Custom Incense/Scent Development

We work with brands on commissions, collaborations, scent development, & private label production. Inquire options on the different types of incense (sticks, cones, or papers), customization, custom fragrance, quantities, & pricing.
Our practice focuses on natural incense made with the actual aromatic woods, herbs, resins, & oils. Everything is made in-house at our studio in Los Angeles, CA.

Incense Workshops

We offer workshops on making incense in Los Angeles, New York, & online. Attendees will learn about the history of incense, different types & functions of incense, & the process of making natural incense by hand. The workshop includes all materials to make a single batch (approximately ten 1 inch cones), pine wood box to store incense, an informational pamphlet to take home, & an option for traditional Korean tea & snacks.Additionally, we offer private workshops for small groups, as well as online and in-person corporate workshops for groups of 20-100+ individuals. We are based in Los Angeles and New York but are available to travel.

Bookbinding Workshops

We offer workshops on non-adhesive bookbinding; attendees will learn about the history of bookbinding, the tools, & the process of different types of binding. The workshop includes all materials to make 3 different stab bound books or one coptic stitched book, an informational pamphlet to take home, & an option for traditional Korean tea & snacks.Additionally, we offer private workshops for small groups, as well as online and in-person corporate workshops for groups of 20-100+ individuals. We are based in Los Angeles and New York but are available to travel.

Fabrication/Design Services

We're a multi-disciplinary studio offering services in custom incense/production, scent development, bookbinding, laser cutting, fabrication, & design. Our studio has a laser cutter, 3D printer, Cricut, die cutter, & wood shop. Our laser cutter can engrave & cut materials ranging from acrylics, wood, fabric, leather, & paper. We offer fabrication in multiple mediums as well as design services.
